A new forum hopes to educate the public about renowned artist Archibald Knox.
To help do this, an Archibald Knox drop-in centre is to be established at Braddan Church new hall, providing somewhere for enthusiasts to meet, discuss the artist and have access to a reference library as well. In addition, it is hoped they may bring in Knox works to share information about them.
Group meetings will also afford a chance for people to bring in works to discuss, handle, draw or photograph them.
The aim is also to have a weekly workshop which could cover topics such as interpreting silver hallmarks, discussing the origins of pewter and silver items, Knox enamels, colours and any other requested subjects.
The centre is to be open the second Friday of each month from 3.30pm to 7pm and refreshments will be available.
The group hopes to accommodate visits from school and college pupils by prior appointment and this can be arranged by contacting [email protected] to arrange times. A page on social media website Facebook is being organised.
